You can bring your own phone if it's compatible with the
Cricket network.
You can continue to use your current phone service until
you're ready to activate your Cricket service.

Can I keep my current phone?
Yes, as long as it's unlocked and compatible with the Cricket network. Make sure it has a SIM card slot. Then check compatibility on our Bring Your Own Phone page.
If I buy a new Cricket phone, can I keep my contacts, photos and videos, music, and text messages?
With today's Cloud technology, transferring content from your current phone to your new device is easier than ever. See how it works
Can I keep my current cell phone number?
Most cell phone numbers can be transferred to Cricket. You'll need to provide your current wireless account information including your account number and account PIN, password, or passcode. In some cases, we may ask for the last four digits of your Social Security Number and the billing ZIP code on your current wireless account. Learn more
How does the phone number transfer process work?
Cricket will work with your current carrier to confirm your phone number is available to transfer. When you activate your new Cricket service, we'll transfer your number over. Here are a few things to expect:
- Your data should work as soon as your new phone is activated. If you bring your own
phone
have trouble with data access, just check
your data settings.
- It may take up to eight hours for SMS/MMS messages to function properly while the transfer processes.
- Due to the time that it takes for your transfer to process through your current wireless company system and Cricket's system, it is possible to have what we call "mixed service"for up to four hours. This means that your old device may receive calls while your new device can make calls.
What happens if I decide to transfer my number after I set up service with Cricket?
It is always best to transfer your number when you initially signup for our service; however, if you decide to transfer your number after you switch, you'll need to set up a new account with the number you would like to transfer and pay for this new service. It is best to do this at the end of your bill cycle because we are unable to transfer funds from your current account to your new account.
What happens if I can't transfer my phone number?
Most numbers can be transferred, but we can't transfer some numbers such as landlines. If your number can't be transferred, you can still join the Cricket network. Just choose to get a new Cricket number. Enter the ZIP code where you'll use your phone most and we'll assign you a local number.
Can I make changes to my order after it's placed?
Once your order has been placed, it cannot be changed or canceled. If you would like to make a return, please follow the return instructions after you receive your package. View return policy
